Responsibilities of the Board and Committee Members
President: Rebecca "Joey" Soward
Joey is a 2004 graduate of Arcadia University’s Master of Physician Assistant Studies
program. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University
of Kentucky in 2001. Since her graduation from PA school, she has practiced in a
Pediatric Rural Health Clinic in Honesdale, PA. She has particular clinical interests
in Pediatric Asthma/Allergy and Pediatric Headache Disorders. In her free time,
she enjoys reading, kayaking, and skiing. She is also a volunteer member of the
National Ski Patrol at Masthope Mountain in Lackawaxen, PA. Joey is serving her
third year on the SPAP Board of Directors. She was the Society’s secretary from 2006-2008.
President-Elect: Ed Wilson
Ed Wilson joined Children's Orthopedics of Atlanta in June 2003 after ten years
in Tallahassee, Florida. Ed is a retired officer from the United States Coast Guard.
While in the Coast Guard, he graduated from George Washington University for Medical
Technology, Radiology Technician School, Environmental Health and Safety School and
Survival School. He also received training as an EMT. He then received a Bachelor
in Science degree from Iona College and finally a Bachelor in Health Science in
Physician Assistant Studies, Masters in Health Sciences and post graduate studies from
Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Ed recently attended the Duke University
program for OSHA, Worker's Compensation and HIPPA regulations. While in Tallahassee,
he worked with some of the women's sports program at Florida State University,
provided medical coverage for the Tiger Shark professional ice hockey team and the
indoor professional football team and worked closely with the northern Florida Special
Olympic Association for 10 years. Ed is a die hard Duke fan and is happy to be in
Atlanta working closer to his children and new grand children.
Immediate Past President: Tami Dolphens
Tami is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center PA Program. She works at
Children's Hospital in Omaha with the Joint Division of Pediatric Cardiology. This will
be her 4th year serving on the Board of Directors and 6th year as an SPAP member. Tami
helps to run the Preventive Pediatric/Lipid Clinic at Children's and has a passion for
motivating children to make better lifestyle choices. She has lectured on pediatric
topics on both the state and national levels, in addition to presenting abstracts at
the National Lipid Association.

Member-at-Large: Pamela Lambert
Pamela is currently a third-year student at the New York Institute of Technology located
on Long Island, New York. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology and Psychology from
the University of Denver in Colorado, before continuing towards her Master's degree at NYIT.
Prior to PA school, she worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant in the Denver area for six years
while attending high school and college. She is a Colorado native and an avid snowboarder.
As a PA student, she has been actively involved as the NYIT Physician Assistant Society Class
of 2009 Vice President. Her career interests include neonatology and pediatric surgery.
